#TuesdayShoesday: Fabulous Shoes You can Wear to a Reunion

5 05 2015

You guys! This week marks the 10 year anniversary of my graduation from Howard University. I mean, what?! I can’t even begin to believe my friends and I are celebrating our 10 year reunion for undergrad, but this is where we are. But here’s the thing about Howard, and probably many other schools — it’s always a fashion show, especially for special events, and even more especially for special events for alumni.

Which means if you’re going to make an entrance and attempt to wow the folks you haven’t seen since you all wore your caps and gowns, you absolutely have to get your shoes right. Now, I don’t know each person’s personal shoe style (although I may do a post soon on how to determine your own), but I do know good shoes. So if you have a reunion coming up soon, and you’re still searching for the best statement shoes to slide on your feet, below I’ve listed a few options I found and fell in love with recently.

Oh and great news — the prices range from $25 to $350, so you don’t necessarily have to break the bank to step out in style.

Check out the shoes below and let me know what you think!

Do you all have a reunion of some sort coming up this year? If so, have you picked out your shoes yet? And will you be trying to purchase any of the ones in this slide show?

Labor Day Shoe SALES!!!

Before Summer Ends…

14 09 2008

POW… it’s always good to make sure to get your sandal shopping out of the way! And as I promised, this weekend I’m bringing you guys cheaper shoes than normal. For some reason, the big buckle look just made these shoes for me… because without it, it’s pretty much a random stilleto sandal. Oh… but with that buckle!!!!! It’s just so shnazy!!! The POW heel by Michael Antonio comes in six colors (orange, blue, green, white, yellow, and black) and has a whopping 4.5 inch heel, and it’s ONLY $29.99 at Barefeet Shoes. Great, right????!!!!

Knock-off Central (1)

3 08 2008

So, often… we as beautiful women/consumers of luxury items find ourselves looking at items and wondering who in the hell would pay the asking price for that?! Well, fortunately, many of our popular stores have developed “knock-offs” to help us achieve that movie star look on a more sensible budget. Sometimes, even that lower price is ridiculous for my standards… but you know, hey, do you!

With that said, I present to you the first of this series Knockoff Central… make sure to come back for more if you’re ever interested in more of them.

Beyonce wore these um… interesting.. Balenciaga shoes at the AMA awards last year. Clocking in at a whopping $4, 175 a pair, its a wonder anyone would want these shoes. But alas… there must be a market for them seeing as though not one retail chain, but two have knock-off versions. In fact, while in Steve Madden recently, I asked the sales person if people really purchased the shoes. His response: “Girrrrrrrrrrrl, (yes he dragged it out like that), we can’t keep these shoes in stock! As soon as we put them out, people are jumping at the chance to buy them!”

Really?!? Well, I dont know… maybe it’s not for me, but hey, if you’ve been looking for them… here ya go!
